Organizations and Ministries I Support

These are organizations and ministries that I support in one way or another; be it through prayer, occasional donations, or monthly support. I believe in their efforts and want to share them with you here. Please note, that I am not affiliated with these organziations in a personal way and what you read here on my blog may not be opinions that are shared by the organizations. That being said, please check them out… they all do good work. The excerpts you will read below are taken from the webpages of the organizations. It’s what they’re all about, in their own words.

American Center for Law & Justice

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) focuses on constitutional law and is based in Washington, D.C. The ACLJ is specifically dedicated to the ideal that religious freedom and freedom of speech are inalienable, God-given rights. The Center’s purpose is to engage legal, legislative and cultural issues by implementing an effective strategy of advocacy, education and litigation to ensure that those rights are protected under the law. The organization has participated in numerous cases before the Supreme Court, Federal Court of Appeals, Federal District Courts, and various state courts regarding freedom of religion and freedom of speech.

 Billy Graham Evangelistic Association

BGEA exists to support and extend the evangelistic calling and ministries of Billy and Franklin Graham by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all we can by every effective means available and by equipping others to do the same.

 ChildFund International

What began as a modest effort to build and operate orphanages, has evolved into a global force working for children encompassing the globe. Our area of excellence and great strength is our deep understanding of children’s experiences of deprivation, exclusion and vulnerability, and our dedication to placing those experiences at the center of our policy and practice.

We work in 31 countries, assisting approximately 15.2 million children and their family members, regardless of race, creed or gender. Our distinctive approach focuses on working with children throughout their journey from birth to young adulthood, as well as with families, local organizations and communities globally to create the environments children need to thrive.

 Christian Broadcasting Network

The mission of CBN and its affiliated organizations is to prepare the United States of America and the nations of the world for the coming of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth. Our ultimate goal is to achieve a time in history when “the knowledge of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.”

In achieving our mission our chief method is the strategic use of all forms of mass communication and the conduct of education that will train the young and old to understand how the principles of the Kingdom of God relate to those spheres of human endeavor that play a dominant role in our world.

In achieving our mission nothing should be done that does not glorify God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

 Gospel for Asia

Our ministry is about changing lives—both for this life and for eternity.

We are committed as a family of believers to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with lost men, women and children throughout Asia who have still not heard His precious name.

We are also fully dedicated to improving the lives of impoverished souls through everything from our Compassion Services to Bridge of Hope and literacy programs to medical care.

 Healing Hands Global

It is the heart of Healing Hands Global to provide comprehensive medical, dental and spiritual care to people in rural, underserved areas of the Third World.

Our present focus is Honduras, as we have established a rural hospital in the village of Rio Viejo, a small mountain community on the Northern coast. God has called us to serve the least of these  and medicine is the tool He has given us to show the love of Christ to the people in a practical way.

Note from Jessica: this one is a bit more personal for me because I know one of the missionaries. Heather Younger is a friend of mine from highschool. She has served with HHG for a few years now. You can see more about what she does at her blog.

International Fellowship of Christians and Jews

The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews was founded in 1983 by Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein to promote understanding between Jews and Christians and build broad support for Israel and other shared concerns. Our ministry’s vision is that Jews and Christians will reverse their 2,000-year history of discord and replace it with a relationship marked by dialogue, respect and cooperation.

 Jesse Duplantis Ministries

Jesse Duplantis Ministries has one goal: to share God’s message of salvation through Jesus Christ with the world. We want everyone to have an opportunity to know the real Jesus. Approachable, personable, compassionate, and full of joy, that’s the real Jesus that Jesse Duplantis knows and loves. And it’s his mission in life to make sure everyone on every continent has an opportunity to know Jesus too.

 John Hagee Ministries

“The mission of John Hagee Ministries is to aggressively fulfill the commission that Jesus Christ gave to his followers to go into the world and make disciples of all people. Our purpose is to bring the lost to Jesus Christ and to build up and encourage those who are already believers. We pledge to our viewers & supporters to take The Gospel to all the World and to all Generations.”

 Operation Worship

 Our Mission Statement:

To further God’s touch by enriching the spiritual lives of military personnel and their families with opportunities for worship, discipleship, and spiritual growth in Jesus Christ through contemporary Christian music concerts featuring Christian artists and speakers. To spread the word of Christ through the distribution of God’s Holy Word to military service members and their families, with a special personally written message of encouragement to each one.

 Pastor Melissa Scott

Pastor Melissa Scott is the Pastor and Teacher of Faith Center in Glendale, California.

Employing a research-laden approach to the analysis of God’s Word in the Old and New Testaments, Pastor Melissa Scott unfolds and presents her teaching in context with history and the sciences.

A natural linguist with command of over twenty languages, she digs deeply into her vast collection of ancient manuscripts to find and communicate the purest understanding of what the original inspired writers of the Bible had to say.

 Samaritan’s Purse

For over 40 years, Samaritan’s Purse has done our utmost to follow Christ’s command by going to the aid of the world’s poor, sick, and suffering. We are an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. This, in turn, earns us a hearing for the Gospel, the Good News of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

 St. Jude

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.

 The Voice of the Martyrs

The Voice of the Martyrs is a non-profit, inter-denominational Christian organization dedicated to assisting the persecuted church worldwide. VOM was founded in 1967 by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who was imprisoned 14 years in Communist Romania for his faith in Christ. His wife, Sabina, was imprisoned for three years. In the 1960s, Richard, Sabina, and their son, Mihai, were ransomed out of Romania and came to the United States. Through their travels, the Wurmbrands spread the message of the atrocities that Christians face in restricted nations, while establishing a network of offices dedicated to assisting the persecuted church. The Voice of the Martyrs continues in this mission around the world today. Our ministry is based on Hebrews 13:3: Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
