Reading Goals

In addition to the reading challenges I may be participating in each year, I’ve decided to have a page devoted to my personal reading goals. This is more than a To-Be-Read List. It’s things I want to put a little more depth into reading. I will post my goals here as “Goals.” If I am currently working on a goal it will be moved to the top of the page, labeled as “Current Goal.” Once I’ve completed a goal it will be moved to the bottom of the page, labeled as “Accomplished.”

The purpose of this goal will be to fully understand Tolkien’s vision of Middle-earth, based on the numerous tales he’s written and the insights of a few others. I plan to make comparisons to the Christian Bible for all of Tolkien’s works listed above, if possible. For the Lord of the Rings, I plan to also do a comparison to the movies directed by Peter Jackson.
